In order to support faculty transition to online courses this summer, the Academy will be offering additional courses as part of the Teaching Online Successfully series. These courses help prepare faculty for developing and/or facilitating their first online course. The completion of either Create or Facilitate enables you to be eligible to teach in a blended or online format at Harper.
Please note: The professional development requirement has been waived for the Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 semesters. You are NOT required to enroll in one of these courses in order to teach this summer or fall. However, after the Fall 2020 semester, if an instructor has not completed the Create or Facilitate GEC, or a course with comparable outcomes that is offered by an outside organization, they must do so in order to be eligible to teach in a blended or online format.

Faculty will learn about critical components of quality course design, receive an introduction to the OSCQR rubric used at Harper for evaluating online and blended course design quality, modify an existing course syllabus for use in an online or blended format, and build one complete course module inside a provided model course shell in Blackboard.
