Harper College has obtained a campus-wide license for the Respondus 4.0 software. Respondus 4.0 is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams for Blackboard Learn. You can extract exams from Blackboard and turn them into word-based exams for printing or for distribution in the classroom. And in turn, you can take your word-based exams you already have on your computer and publish them to Blackboard for deploying online.
Additional information about the Respondus 4.0 software and the Respondus 4.0 Test Bank Network (a free service that allows instructors to access Respondus-compatible publisher test banks) is available at www.respondus.com/respondus.
Our license also permits you to install a copy of the Respondus 4.0 software on a home or travel computer. However, you are not permitted to provide the Respondus 4.0 software or the password information to anyone who is not affiliated with our institution. Such an action is a violation of our licensing agreement with Respondus and is also illegal.
The .exe file you need to download the software and the installation instructions were attached in an email sent to all Harper faculty from the Academy on April 27, 2021.
The file you download is named “Respondus4Campus.exe”. Locate the file on your hard drive and double-click it to start the Respondus 4.0 installation program. Installation instructions are also attached to this email. We recommend that you accept the default settings for where the program is installed. If you are on a Harper-issued laptop (that is locked down), or you VPN to your Harper workstation, you will need to contact the Service Desk at (email@example.com) to have them install it for you.
During the installation process you will be asked to enter the activation details. This information was also attached to the email sent to all Harper faculty from the Academy on April 27, 2021.
