The 20-Minute Mentor video series offered by Magna Publications, are video-based programs designed to answer a specific question related to teaching and learning. They deliver actionable insights in highly focused 20-minute presentations designed to fit busy schedules.
The Academy is partnering with Harper faculty to showcase a few of these videos in our new Lunch & Learn series. Each 1-hour (0.1 CEU) session will provide an opportunity for attendees to watch one of the 20-minute videos as a group. Faculty leaders will then engage the group in discussion and brainstorming on how to apply what they saw in the video to their classrooms. Lunch will be provided at each session, so register early for one or more sessions and come hungry!
March’s Topic: What Are the Secrets to Providing Highly Effective Feedback to Students?
In this month’s Lunch & Learn, you’ll learn ways to give substantive feedback and recycle comments to save time and effort. You’ll see the type of questions that help or hinder student achievement and acquire tips to ignite students’ curiosity, respect their thinking, and stoke their engagement. The presenter is Dr. John Orlando, Associate Director of Faculty Support, Northcentral University and Editor, Online Classroom.
Our Harper faculty facilitator for March is Karen Patterson, Art. Come join Karen and the Academy for a great discussion. A lunch of subs and chips will be provided.
