Panopto is a cloud-based video platform that is now available to Harper faculty. Panopto provides an all-in-one solution for recording, editing, captioning, and sharing videos! Panopto is integrated with Blackboard and Webex, which provides easy access and a streamlined workflow for faculty and students.

We’ve been hearing feedback from faculty who have started using Panopto and it’s been overwhelmingly positive! Faculty like how Panopto is easy to use and provides a way to record videos, edit, and add interactive features. As an instructor you can see the viewing statistics of a video which can help guide your approach to engaging students. If you missed the Academy’s Panopto Basics workshop series, there are plenty of opportunities to get started with Panopto and we will be sharing them in upcoming Academy News.

Start by creating your Panopto account. Since Panopto uses your Blackboard login, it’s easy to create your account through Blackboard. This video will walk you through the process. Once you have your Panopto account, you can log into Harper’s Panopto site.

Panopto offers basic training webinars via Zoom. Watch a recording of a previous session: Recording of Panopto Basic Training.

Be sure to check out how Philosophy faculty, Stephanie Adair recently started using the Panopto quiz feature in her online synchronous courses. She shares how embedding quiz questions in lecture videos is a great strategy to help with equity gaps. Read about the strategy here and watch this video where she explains how she is using the Panopto quiz feature.
