The Diversity and Inclusion Shared Governance Committee would like to invite you to a conversation about a new book by Tia Brown McNair, From Equity Talk to Equity Walk. According to the introduction, McNair and her co-authors explore strategies that can create and build more equity-minded college campuses drawing on contemporary research. As our campus begins to consider a strategic plan with equity as a focus, the D&I committee would like to engage our community in a valuable discussion.

Those who are interested in joining the conversation will be provided with a copy of From Equity Talk to Equity Walk. Participants will read a selection from the text then participate in a conversation about campus culture, strategic priorities, or equity mindedness in five separate book club meetings. Each meeting will be held via Webex on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. during the month of July and one Wednesday in August. Afterward, participants who would like CEUs will be asked to compose a reflective response in an online forum about how one can apply our conversations to their work.
