On Friday, October 18, Harper College will host the Community College Counseling Consortium (C4). The morning will start with a complimentary continental breakfast from 8:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. and the program will begin at 9 a.m. Consortium counselors will explore their roles and experiences in “creating conditions within which people will motivate themselves.” This C4 will examine concepts of motivation with a focus on developing conditions that bring better outcomes in the lives of students and counselors alike! Participants will experience a workshop-style atmosphere, with opportunities to share experiences with colleagues and strengthen skills for working with the challenges of motivation.
The C4 event will be led by Harper College counselor DuBoi McCarty. Mr. McCarty is currently conducting research for completion of a doctoral degree in Adult and Higher Education from Northern Illinois University. His research has directed him to detailed exploration of motivation and concepts that drive motivation. McCarty aims to provide a fun, energetic, yet relaxed environment that encourages, uplifts, and strengthens all participants!
A working lunch will be provided and participants are eligible to receive CEUs for participating.
