Did you know the Library’s live chat reference service did NOT stop when we returned to campus? While you and your students can definitely ask questions in person in the Library, you can also ask questions online 24/7.

During regular Library hours you’ll reach a Harper librarian; after hours you’ll get a librarian at one of our partner schools. Online chat is a fantastic way for students to get started on a research project, troubleshoot search strategies, resolve access issues, ask quick citing questions, and more. To chat with us, visit the Library homepage and click on the “Chat with a Librarian” tab on the right side of the screen.

Students aren’t always aware of the service, so mention it often! Encourage them to ask questions by adding links to the Library homepage in your courses and assignments.

If you have more questions about our chat service or our other instruction services (including for summer!), contact librarian Jennifer Lau-Bond (jlaubond@harpercollege.edu).
