If you could make a small change in your classroom that increases the likelihood that fewer students will drop while making you feel better in the class, would you try it?

Twenty faculty members took on the challenge of “Helping One More Student Stay” and made a small change in their classes during Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. Each of these faculty members either increased communication with their students and/or employed flexibility with assignments and due dates, which led to higher rates of retention and participation compared to previous semesters. More importantly, 87.5% of faculty participants said that their experience in the class was greatly improved.
