March 16 - March 17
Don’t miss the Harper College 50th Anniversary Faculty Retreat! The program will begin with lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16 and conclude at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 17. The committee is planning an afternoon of engagement around “Teaching Vulnerable Students in the 21st Century” utilizing Pecha Kucha presentations and various interactive discussion methods. Throughout the program, attendees will have opportunities to earn prizes by answering questions in the style of game shows from the 1960s to today. The evening will include team trivia with rounds hosted by various Harper groups and departments as well as some late night Harper talent.
We hope that many will choose to stay overnight as Saturday’s program will include application of ideas from Friday afternoon using a design-thinking guide adapted from Stanford University’s Institute of Design.
All full-time and adjunct faculty are invited, and the retreat will be fully funded; no individual professional development funds will be required. More information and an invitation will be coming soon!
Individuals with disabilities who would like to request an accommodation or who have questions about physical access may contact the event host or Access and Disability Services at email@example.com, 847.925.6266, at least two weeks in advance of the event date.
