Student Development is launching a brand new model for counseling support. You may have heard that Psych Services will be closing this summer (end of July 2019), but you might not know that Student Development has been hard at work creating a brand new program of comprehensive counseling services to support students’ career, educational, and personal/wellness needs.

Counseling Services in Building I, Room I117 provides just-in-time support, crisis counseling, and proactive support to meet the non-academic needs of our students. The new model embraces the “Flight of the Hawks” growth mindset philosophy utilizing a “We’re Here for You” motto.

Counselors have been busy conducting a needs assessment – identifying that support for stress and anxiety reduction are high priorities for students. Watch for programs and services targeted to meet these needs in the fall.

Join us during a Fall 2019 Faculty/Staff Orientation Week session to learn more or contact us at 847.925.6393 if you’d like a house call. We love visiting with individuals to answer questions or we’d be happy to join you for a department meeting.
