As we recharge our batteries and get ready for a new semester, it’s also time to think about how we can best help our students. Please join us during the Orientation Week sessions that focus on student learning!

  • Learn about the genesis of Harper College’s Global Learning Outcomes, what they are, and how you can “globalize” your courses by integrating one or more GLO into your curriculum. (Wednesday, January 10, 3 – 3:50 p.m., Building Z, Room Z102)
  • Find out how to make connections between your course content and quantitative reasoning, even if you don’t consider your course to be related to quantitative reasoning. (Wednesday, January 10, 4 – 4:50 p.m., Building X, Room X122)
  • Back by popular demand! Start your Thursday morning off right by playing a sticker hunt before the Provost’s meeting! Win valuable prizes! (Thursday, January 11, 8 – 8:30 a.m., Building J, outside of Room J143) Remember the coffee, tea, and scones, too!

On Wednesday, you’ll also have an opportunity to discuss feedback from the November 2017 HLC “mock” site visit, which will include information about teaching and learning, as well as your role in the upcoming visit. Please help make final preparations as we approach our ultimate destination: reaffirmation of HLC accreditation! (Wednesday, January 10, 1 – 1:50 p.m., Building Z, Room Z102)

We look forward to seeing you at these and other sessions throughout the week!
